The Chastisements: warning about diseases.

"There will be serious diseases thathuman art cannot alleviate. This malady will attack the heart first, then the mind,and at the same time, the tongue.

「将会出现人类技术无法缓解的严重疾病。这种病首先会侵袭人的心灵，然后是思想，同时也会侵袭人的舌头（语言？）。

It will be horrible. The heat that will accompanyit will be a consuming fire, so strongthat the affected parts of the body will be of an unbearable redness, (red blotches/ patches).

这将是可怕的。伴随而来的高烧将会是吞噬的火焰，如此强烈以至于身体受影响的部位，会变得难以忍受的发红（红疹∕斑）。

After seven days, this malady, like the seedsown in a field, will rise rapidly and make immense progress (i.e. take over thebody quickly, or, spread through the population quickly).

七天之后，这种疾病就像播种在田里的种子一样，会迅速生长并取得巨大的发展（即迅速接管身体，或迅速在人群中传播）。

My children, this is the only remedy thatcan save you:

You know the leaves of thorns that grow inalmost any hedges (hawthorn).

你知道几乎在任何树篱（山楂树）上生长的刺叶。

The leaves of this thorn will stop the progressof the disease.

这种带刺的叶子会阻止疾病的发展。

You must pick the leaves, not the wood. Evendry, they will retain their effectiveness. Put them in boiling water and leave themthere for 14 minutes, covering the container so that the steam remains. When themalady first attacks, you must use this remedy three times a day.

The malady will produce a continual uprisingof the heart, (blood pressure?Increased heart rate?)vomiting. If the remedy is taken too late, the affected parts will become black,and in this black, there will be yellowish pale streaks."
