The Song of Songs
Chapter 2

1 ¹ I am a flower of Sharon,
a lily of the valley.

新娘 - 我是原野的水仙，谷中的百合。

2 G As a lily among thorns,
so is my beloved among women.

新郎 - 我的爱卿在少女中，有如荆棘中的一朵百合。

3 B As an apple tree among the trees of the woods,
so is my lover among men.
I delight to rest in his shadow,
and his fruit is sweet to my mouth.

新娘 - 我的爱人在少年中，有如森林中的一棵苹果树；我爱坐在他的荫下，他的果实令我满口香甜。

4 ² He brings me into the banquet hall
and his emblem over me is love.

他引我进入酒室，他插在我身上的旗帜是爱情。

5 Strengthen me with raisin cakes,
refresh me with apples,
for I am faint with love.

请你们用葡萄干来补养我，用苹果来苏醒我，因为我因爱成疾：

6 His left hand is under my head
and his right arm embraces me.

他的左手在我头下，他的右手紧抱着我。

7 ³ I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem,
by the gazelles and hinds of the field,
Do not arouse, do not stir up love
before its own time.

新郎 - 耶路撒冷女郎！我指着田野间的羚羊或牝鹿，恳求你们，不要惊醒，不要唤醒我的爱，让她自便吧！

8 B ⁴ Hark! my lover-here he comes
springing across the mountains,
leaping across the hills.

新娘 - 听，这是我爱人的声音；看，他来了：跳过山岗，跃过丘陵。

9 My lover is like a gazelle
or a young stag.
Here he stands behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattices.

我的爱人彷佛羚羊，宛如幼鹿；你看，他已站在我们的墙后，由窗外向里凝视，由窗棂往内窥望。

10 My lover speaks; he says to me,
＂Arise, my beloved, my beautiful one,
and come!

我的爱人招呼我说：＂起来，我的爱卿！快来，我的佳丽！

11 ＂For see, the winter is past,
the rains are over and gone.

看严冬已过，时雨止息，且已过去；

12 The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of pruning the vines has come,
and the song of the dove is heard in our land.

田间的花卉已露，唱歌的时期已近。在我们的地方已听到斑鸠声；

13 The fig tree puts forth its figs,
and the vines, in bloom, give forth fragrance.
Arise, my beloved, my beautiful one,
and come!

无花果树已发出初果，葡萄树已开花放香；起来，我的爱卿！快来，我的佳丽！

14 ⁵ ＂O my dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the secret recesses of the cliff,
Let me see you,
let me hear your voice,
For your voice is sweet,
and you are lovely.＂

我那在岩石缝中，在悬崖隐处的鸽子！请让我看到你的面貌，听见你的声音，因为你的声音柔和可爱，你的面貌美丽动人。＂

15 B ⁶ Catch us the foxes, the little foxes
that damage the vineyards; for our vineyards are in bloom!

请你们为我们捕捉狐狸，捕捉毁坏葡萄园的小狐狸，我们的葡萄园正在开花。

16 My lover belongs to me and I to him;
he browses among the lilies.

我的爱人属于我，我属于我的爱人；他在百合花间，牧放他的羊群。

17 ⁷ Until the day breathes cool and the shadows lengthen,
roam, my lover,
Like a gazelle or a young stag
upon the mountains of Bether.

趁晚风还未生凉，日影还未消失，我的爱人，愿你仿效盟约山上的羚羊或幼鹿，向我归来！

¹ [1] Flower of Sharon: probably the narcissus, which grows in the fertile Plain of Sharon lying between Mount Carmel and Jaffa on the Mediterranean coast.

² [4-6] The banquet hall: the sweet things of the table, the embrace of the bride and bridegroom, express the delicacy of their affection and the intimacy of their love.

³ [7] By the gazelles and hinds: the swiftness of these animals and the luster and soft expression of their eyes are suggestive of love; cf Proverb 5:19.

⁴ [8-13] In this sudden change of scene, the bride pictures her lover hastening toward her dwelling until his voice is heard bidding her come to him.

⁵ [14] The bride is addressed as though she were a dove in a mountain fastness out of sight and reach.

⁶ [15] A snatch of song in answer to the request of Song 2:14; cf Song 8:13, 14. Foxes: all who threaten to disturb the security of love symbolized by the vineyard; cf Song 2:16.

⁷ [17] Breathes cool: in the evening when the sun is going down. Cf Genesis 3:8. Bether: a very obscure word; some interpret it in the sense of ruggedness; others, of spices; still others, of sacrifice (Genesis 15:10).
