Genesis 1 and then God remembered Noah and all the animals, wild and tame, that were with him in the ark. So God made a wind sweep over the earth, and the waters began to subside. 2 The fountains of the abyss and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the downpour from the sky was held back. 3 Gradually the waters receded from the earth. At the end of one hundred and fifty days, the waters had so diminished 4 1 that, in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 七月十七日，方舟停在阿辣辣特山上。 5The waters continued to diminish until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains appeared. 洪水继续减退，直到十月；十月一日，许多山顶都露出来。 6 2 At the end of forty days Noah opened the hatch he had made in the ark, 过了四十天，诺厄开了在方舟上做的窗户， 7 and he sent out a raven, to see if the waters had lessened on the earth. It flew back and forth until the waters dried off from the earth. 放了一只乌鸦；乌鸦飞去又飞回，直到地上的水都干了。 8 Then he sent out a dove, to see if the waters had lessened on the earth. 诺厄等待了七天，又放出了一只鸽子，看看水是否已由地面退尽。 9 But the dove could find no place to alight and perch, and it returned to him in the ark, for there was water all over the earth. Putting out his hand, he caught the dove and drew it back to him inside the ark. 但是，因为全地面上还有水，鸽子找不着落脚的地方，遂飞回方舟；诺厄伸手将它接入方舟内。 10 He waited seven days more and again sent the dove out from the ark. 再等了七天，他由方舟中又放出一只鸽子， 11 In the evening the dove came back to him, and there in its bill was a plucked-off olive leaf! So Noah knew that the waters had lessened on the earth. 傍晚时，那只鸽子飞回他那里，看，嘴里衔着一根绿的橄榄树枝；诺厄于是知道，水已由地上退去。 12 He waited still another seven days and then released the dove once more; and this time it did not come back. 13 In the six hundred and first year of Noah's life, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the water began to dry up on the earth. Noah then removed the covering of the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was drying up. 诺厄六百零一岁，正月初一，地上的水都干了，诺厄就撤开方舟的顶观望，看见地面已干。 14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. 16 ＂Go out of the ark, together with your wife and your sons and your sons' wives. 17 Bring out with you every living thing that is with you--all bodily creatures, be they birds or animals or creeping things of the earth-and let them abound on the earth, breeding and multiplying on it.＂ 所有同你在方舟内的有血肉的生物：飞禽、牲畜和各种地上的爬虫，你都带出来，叫他们在地上滋生，在地上生育繁殖。＂ 18 So Noah came out, together with his wife and his sons and his sons' wives; 19 and all the animals, wild and tame, all the birds, and all the creeping creatures of the earth left the ark, one kind after another. 20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and choosing from every clean animal and every clean bird, he offered holocausts on the altar. 诺厄给上主筑了一座祭坛，拿各种洁净的牲畜和洁净的飞禽，献在祭坛上，作为全燔祭。 21 3 When the LORD smelled the sweet odor, he said to himself: ＂Never again will I doom the earth because of man, since the desires of man's heart are evil from the start; nor will I ever again strike down all living beings, as I have done. 上主闻到了馨香，心里说：＂我再不为人的缘故咒骂大地，因为人心的思念从小就邪恶；我也再不照我所作的打击一切生物了， 22 As long as the earth lasts, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, Summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.＂ 只愿大地存在之日，稼穑寒暑，冬夏昼夜，循环不息。＂ Footnotes(注解) 1 [4] Ararat: ancient Urartu, north of the Mesopotamian plain, part of modern 2 [6] In the original Yahwist source, from which this verse is taken, the forty days refer to the full period of the flood itself (cf Genesis 7:4, 17); in the present context, however, they seem to refer to a period following the date just given in Genesis 8:5 from the Priestly source. 3 [21] From the start: literally ＂from his youth.＂ It is uncertain whether this means from the beginning of the human race or from the early years of the individual. |
