Psalms 1 Of David. 1 Do not be provoked by evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong. 达味作。不要因作恶的人而忿怒，也不要对歹徒心生嫉妒； 2 Like grass they wither quickly; like green plants they wilt away. 因为他们有如青草，快要枯槁，他们有如绿叶，行将零凋。 3 2 Trust in the LORD and do good that you may dwell in the land and live secure. 你该信赖上主，致力行善，你必安居乐土，享受康宁。 4 Find your delight in the LORD who will give you your heart's desire. 你只管在上主内喜欢，他必满全你心的意愿。 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust that God will act 将你的行径委托于上主，寄望于他，他必使之成就。 6 And make your integrity shine like the dawn, your vindication like noonday. 他必使你的义德如光出现，他必使你的仁义如日中天。 7 Be still before the LORD; wait for God. Do not be provoked by the prosperous, nor by malicious schemers. 你应该在上主面前安心依靠，不要因万事顺当的人而烦恼，不要因图谋不轨的人而暴燥； 8 Give up your anger, abandon your wrath; do not be provoked; it brings only harm. 你应控制愤恨，消除怒火，不要动怒，免得再犯罪过。 9 Those who do evil will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD will possess the land. 因为作恶犯罪的人必被铲除；唯有仰望上主的人继承乐土。 10 Wait a little, and the wicked will be no more; look for them and they will not be there. 再过片刻恶人就不知所在，详察他的住所，也不复存在。 11 But the poor will possess the land, will delight in great prosperity. 但善人将继承乐土，必将乐享平安幸福。 12 The wicked plot against the just and grind their teeth at them; 恶徒设计谋害忠义，常朝着他咬牙切齿。 13 But the LORD laughs at them, knowing their day is coming. 上主却朝着恶人发笑，因见他的时日已经来到。 14 The wicked draw their swords; they string their bows To fell the poor and oppressed, to slaughter those whose way is honest. 恶人拔剑张弓，想毁灭贫困微弱的人，想屠杀操行正直的人； 15 Their swords will pierce their own hearts; their bows will be broken. 他们的剑反刺穿他们的心肝，他们的弓将被折得破烂不堪。 16 Better the poverty of the just than the great wealth of the wicked. 义人占有的幸福虽少，但却胜于恶人的富饶。 17 The arms of the wicked will be broken; the LORD will sustain the just. 因为恶人的手臂将被折断，义人却有上主作支援。 18 The LORD watches over the days of the blameless; their heritage lasts forever. 上主眷顾善人的岁月，他们的产业永远常在。 19 They will not be disgraced when times are hard; in days of famine they will have plenty. 在患难之时，他们必不蒙羞，在饥馑之日，他们必得饱饫。 20 The wicked perish, the enemies of the LORD; Like the beauty of meadows they vanish; like smoke they disappear. 恶人和上主的仇人必要沉沦，必要象沃野的鲜花一样凋零，必要象烟雾一般消散得无影。 21 The wicked borrow but do not repay; the just are generous in giving. 恶人借贷总不偿还，义人却常好施乐善。 22 For those blessed by the Lord will possess the land, but those accursed will be cut off. 的确，蒙上主降福的人将继承福地，受上主咒骂的人将被除灭迹。 23 Those whose steps are guided by the LORD; whose way God approves, 上主稳定善人的脚步，上主欣赏义人的道路： 24 May stumble, but they will never fall, for the LORD holds their hand. 他纵或失足，也不致颠仆，因为上主扶持着他的手。 25 Neither in my youth, nor now in old age have I ever seen the just abandoned or their children begging bread. 我作过幼童，现今已经年老，从未见过正义的人被遣弃。也未见过他的后裔行乞讨。 26 The just always lend generously, and their children become a blessing. 他既终生施惠怜恤，他的子孙必蒙祝福。 27 Turn from evil and do good, that you may inhabit the land forever. 你若避恶行善，你必存留永远。 28 For the LORD loves justice and does not abandon the faithful. When the unjust are destroyed, and the children of the wicked cut off, 因为上主爱慕正义，必不抛弃自己的圣徒，乖戾歹徒必被消灭，恶人的子孙必被铲除， 29 The just will possess the land and live in it forever. 义人将要承受乐土，必在那里永远居住。 30 The mouths of the just utter wisdom; their tongues speak what is right. 义人的口倾吐智慧，他的舌头讲论公义。 31 God's teaching is in their hearts; their steps do not falter. 天主的法律在他心田，他的脚步必坚定不偏。 32 The wicked spy on the just and seek to kill them. 恶者窥伺义者，设法将他杀害； 33 But the LORD does not leave the just in their pow, er, nor let them be condemned when tried. 上主绝不将义人弃于恶人手中，上主审判时，也决不判义人受刑。 34 Wait eagerly for the LORD, and keep to the way; God will raise you to possess the land; you will gloat when the wicked are cut off. 你当仰望上主，遵循他的道路：他必要举扬你，使你承受乐土；当铲除恶人时，你将欣然目睹。 35 I have seen ruthless scoundrels, strong as flourishing cedars. 我曾见过恶人横极一时，象茂盛的绿树滋长不息。 36 When I passed by again, they were gone; though I searched, they could not be found. 当我再经过时，竟已不在眼前，我虽到处寻觅，再也没有寻见。 37 Observe the honest, mark the upright; those at peace with God have a future. 求你对正人注视，对君子观看，爱好和平的人，子嗣必定连绵。 38 But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off. 行凶的人必尽数灭亡，恶人的后裔必全沦丧。 39 The salvation of the just is from the LORD, their refuge in time of distress. 义人的救护是来自上主，他是他们困厄时的护守； 40 The LORD helps and rescues them, rescues and saves them from the wicked, because in God they take refuge. 上主必扶持助佑，解救他们脱离恶人，上主必予以挽救，因他们曾向他投奔。 Footnotes（注解） 1 [Psalm 37] The psalm responds to the problem of evil, which the Old Testament often expresses as a question: why do the wicked prosper and the good suffer? The psalm answers that the situation is only temporary. God will reverse things, rewarding the good and punishing the wicked here on earth. The perspective is concrete and earthbound: people's very actions place them among the ranks of the good or wicked. Each group or "way" has its own inherent dynamism--eventual frustration for the wicked, eventual reward for the just. The psalm is an acrostic, i.e., each section begins with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Each section has its own imagery and logic. 2 [3,9,11,22,27,29,34] The land: the promised land, Israel, which became for later interpreters a type or figure of heaven. Cf Hebrews 11:9-10, 13-16. The New Testament Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12; Luke 6:20-26) have been influenced by the psalm, especially their total reversal of the present and their interpretation of the happy future as possession of the land. |
